As I look at the calendar I can hardly believe my trip to San Sebastian and Paris is just 8 weeks away.
It's not that I've been slacking in my trip research, in fact I've been very busy scouring guide books and anxiously awaitng the arrival of the Rick Steves Spain guide so I can add to my San Sebastian research! I've uncovered a ton of information on Paris, but the one area of research I've been holding back on for Paris is restaurants!
The reason for holding back? I will be returning to my trusted Pudlo France restaurant guide and the book is a monster...thousands of pages, 2 columned, tiny print pages...it's not like I'm dreading reading the information, as a matter of fact I have most of the restaurants I want to try already highlighted in the book. It's the typing the information from the Pudlo guide into my own personal guidebook, yes, that one, the one I create for all my "big" trips. I do this (especially when Pudlo is concerned) because the book is so mammoth that it must weigh somewhere around 2 pounds and I refuse to lug a book that size with me. Plus, I will be in Paris for 8 nights and as much as I do like to eat, there is no way on God's green earth that I could possibly tackle even a quarter of the restaurants listed in the Paris section of this book!
So I have dedicated this weekend to getting my Pudlo restaurant recommendations in my personal Paris guidebook. Now I know, I have 8 weeks before I leave for this trip, but the anal retentive travel planner in me is already saying..."things need to be organized"! And since I'll be in NYC next weekend and a friend is going to Paris in mid-April and has asked for my list I have even more incentive to get it done this weekend.
Here's to a weekend spent typing my fingers to the bone in a valiant effort to have the best Parisian restaurant options at my finger tips!
