I won't be leaving for my Turkey trip for 50 more days, but my work "plate" runneth over! Truly! I've had so many new assignments in the last week that it just may put me over the edge!
Not only did I get application notices for 2 grant applications that will have to be done before I leave on September 21st, but I've got 3 big projects, plus a bunch of smaller assignments.
All I can do is take a deep breath and do as much as I humanly can before I leave and then plan on someone taking care of anything that comes up while I am gone. Heck, last year I was away for 4 weeks and all went well, although I did not have as much on my plate as I do now! This year I will only be away for 3 weeks. And let me tell you, after this week I really need a vacation. Getting hit with all this work always sends me into panic mode!
Now on the travel planning front...New York City...on our return from Turkey CL and I decided to spend one night in the Big Apple. We have been trying to get CL's hotel discount at one of the Westin's or Sheraton's in the city, but no luck there yet. I also have the option to email Lou and see if I can get a discount at the Crowne Plaza (my old stomping ground). But as a backup I found a boutique hotel called the Washington Square Hotel in Greenwich Village on Waverly Place. The room rate even includes continental breakfast! And the hotel has gotten some really good reviews at trip advisor. So, I made a reservation for our one night in NYC. We can always cancel if another option opens up, but at least now I have a NYC hotel taken care of!
Well, here is to taking deep calming breaths and relaxing!
