Ken and Lisa came to visit for my 40th and instead of coming on the actual day I suggested they come over the MLK holiday weekend since I had that Monday off. And it was a great weekend! There was some travel delays, lots of storms on the East Coast, including here, it had been raining all day! Ken and Lisa arrived in Savannah on Saturday night shortly after 9pm. The original flight schedule had them arriving at 6:30pm, so a couple hours late really isn't too bad.
Saturday night we came back to my place and had some dinner and talked. Sunday dawned bright and sunny, but cool temperatures. We met my mom and had brunch at the Old Fort Pub...ahhh...the start of a food-filled weekend! After brunch I took K & L on a tour of Hilton Head showing them some of the more interesting places, including Harbor Town.

Sunday night the plan was to have dinner with "the gang" (Dori, Eddye, Donna, Melissa, Esmeralda, and CL) at Little Thai Too. We met Eddye at the restaurant bar about an hour before everyone else so she could spend some "quality" time getting to know K & L. We had a terrific dinner, I love the Pad Thai there...ok, so I haven't ever had Pad Thai anywhere else! We even had one of the staff break out his guitar and serenade us with a variety of Jim Croce and James Taylor songs! After dinner some of us went over to the Metropolitan Lounge but it was closed, so we came home and stayed up talking.
Monday was another sunny clear day, but still cold. We decided to head over to Downtown Savannah and walk around the historic area. We went to the Cathedral of John the Baptist, which was beautiful...I had never been there before. We walked through the squares and down Broughton Street and over to River Street. We stopped for lunch and had a variety of appetizers at Moon River Pub on Bay Street. We headed back home around 3pm and decided to go to Truffles Cafe here in town for dinner. We had a great meal and then went to see a movie.
Tuesday morning arrived all too soon and we were getting ready to visit with a colleague of Ken's , have lunch and go to the airport.
It was such a fast and fun weekend!
