As I'm willing this week to hurry up and come to an end so I can pack my bag, hop on a plane and spend 2 days in NYC I get a phone call. Not just any phone call, but a call from the Hotel Indigo Chelsea. Yes, "that" Hotel Indigo, the one I'll be staying at this coming weekend.
As the voice on the other ends says..."I'm calling about your reservation starting on Saturday"...I have a sinking feeling in my gut. "Yesssss" I say. The voice on the other end says"I just wanted to let you know Columbia Pictures will be filming a movie on the street the hotel is on and the street will be closed to traffic". The voice wanted to know if I'd be driving to the city and if so, he would give me directions to a parking garage around the corner from the hotel. Or, if I was taking a taxi they would have to drop me off on the corner and if I wanted to call the hotel when dropped off they would send a bellman to help with bags.
Whew...I breathed a huge sigh of relief. I assured "the voice" I would be able to handle my bag on my own, but thanked him for giving me the advance notice.
And that brings me to my final thought on this...Wow! That was such a small gesture, but really nice to give me a heads-up so I can let the driver know where to stop.
