San Sebastian I can almost see you!

As I looked at the calendar this morning I realized 6 weeks from today I will be arriving in San Sebastian, Spain...the culinary heart of the Basque Country, and as some say all of Spain!  OK, now it's more like I'm gazing longingly at my calendar willing 6 weeks to pass in the blink of an eye!

I received the Rick Steves Spain guidebook a couple days ago and happily cracked it open today at lunch.  Not that I haven't already started my research for this trip, that's been in the works for months now.  It's just this guidebook is the last in a long line of guidebooks, and websites, and blogs, and magazine, and newspaper articles I have read on San Sebastian!

I am really looking forward to exploring what appears to be a jewel of a city with beautiful beaches and belle epoque buildings and of course the pintxos bars.  If I'm being honest, it's really the pintxos (Basque tapas) I'm most excited about...I've seen pictures of these incredible miniature creations and I can't wait to sink my teeth into one, or two, or three of them!  Not to mention washing them down with the local white wine....ahh...heaven!
