One of the many great things about Facebook is that I have become much more aware of special deals and events in my adored travel world.
About a week ago I saw a Facebook post from Context Travel that they had discounted their Vatican After hours tour. Now, this tour is not one that is regularly scheduled. The Vatican allows these after hours tours a few times a year and we just happen to be lucky enough that it is happening on the Wednesday we will be in Rome. AND...it just also happens to be the same day as mom's birthday.
Soooo, it was a no-brainer...one call to mom..."hey are you interested?" The reply..."You bet!" Then another call to CathyLee..."hey are you interested?" The reply..."You bet!"
One stroke, ok really several strokes, of the keyboard and we are booked.
October 14th we are booked for the Context Rome Vatican After hours tour. There are only 26 spots and then Context splits that group of 26 into smaller groups of 5, each with our own docent. I am beyond excited...this is going to be one heck of an experience.
Stay tuned for a trip report with all the details when I return!

I did this two years ago, I paid 500E for it (Mom and me). If you paid 60E I'm going to stick my head in the oven! haha
Beth...Didn't pay 60Euro, but did pay 150Euro each.
150E each is not bad considering what you get for it - I've been on a few Context Rome tours and they are outstanding. I'll be looking forward to your take on it.
