Whew...what a weekend!
Friday I got my computer back with a zippy new hard drive and just about all of my documents were retrieved! YIPPEE! The only document not found...yup, the coveted Rome Restaurant list. Have no fear. I spent 4 hours Saturday afternoon re-typing the list and got the 24 pages down to 20 pages, and no, it's not in a size 4 font! So now I can depart for Rome with the knowledge that I have a plethora of restaurants to choose from!
The only bummer was that I did spend 4 hours of a beautiful Saturday in the house typing, but I got a big reward. In the late morning my phone rang and it was my friend Regi from Atlanta. He asks, " What are you doing?". I say, "I'm at the car wash and then heading home." He says, "I'm in Hilton Head". I say, "What?" Turns out he came down for jazz festival. We met up for wine and appetizers at Wiseguys on Saturday night, so it was a great way to end a day of monotonous typing!
Sunday was the "big pack" day. I had most everything I was going to pack already stacked and coordinated in the guest bedroom, so it wasn't a major "event", but it did take about an hour to get everything in ziplock bags and situated just perfectly in my suitcase. I'm happy to say that I am pretty much a rock star in the realm of packing. I think I even have room in case there are any last minute toss-ins. I did cull things down to the bare minimum and if there is anything I have forgotten, well, I'm sure I can buy it in Rome!
Now it's the anticipation that is killing me...it took me forever to get to sleep last night, and I still have 2 more work days to go...ugh...I am so ready to be in Roma!
