The new year started with an email I was happy to receive, but wasn't expecting (just yet). I now have the names and contact information for the first and last hotels we will be staying in on the Rick Steves tour of Portugal!
Of course, that meant I was dashing off an email to the tour hotel in Lisbon, The Hotel Lisboa Plaza, to see if there were available rooms for three nights before the start of the tour. What efficiency! In less than 24 hours of sending the initial inquiry email, I had booked a room for our pre-tour days in Lisbon. The hotel website looks pretty nice http://www.lisbonplazahotel.com/ and the hotel gets good reviews on Trip Advisor, and it was a hotel I came across when we first booked the trip and thought it was worth considering, so at least Rick and I are on the same wave-length. :-)
I still have to book a hotel for when we return to Lisbon after the tour ends for one night prior to leaving for home, but I'm still mulling over the thought of trying a different hotel on the return. Stay tuned, I"ll have more travel planning highlights to share!
