Return to Roma

I can barely contain myself!  In one week I will be "winging" my way back to Rome, and I couldn't be happier.  I don't know what it is with me and Rome, but I really think I've found my urban love in the Eternal City!

I've been taking care of the small planning details, but it almost feels like this trip has evolved on its own.  Maybe it's because I'm starting to feel like Rome isn't just a vacation destination for me, but more like a coming home.

I was chatting with a friend the other day and realized this will be trip #7 to Rome for me in 6 years and I had to laugh when I realized using a map to maneuver around the historic center isn't such a necessity for me any more.  Although I still carry one with me, just in case I find myself in unfamiliar territory!

I don't feel like there is a list of "must see" places lurking in my travel notes either. Sure, there are plenty of places that I haven't made it to on previous trips, and on the last couple visits to Rome I had a few places, sites, activities I wanted to see or do.  But, if time didn't permit I didn't fret over not getting to do something I had planned.  Heck, finding a great spot at an outdoor cafe and sipping a cup of cappuccino or a glass of prosecco is sometimes a whole lot better then squeezing my way through a crowded museum.

Look out Roma, I'm coming back!
