....planning a return trip to Italy of course!
Shortly after signing up for Italian lessons the conversation with mom, my trusty travel companion, turned to the obvious..."when are we going back to Italy"?
I didn't need much nudging to start checking out airfares for the spring of 2012. I started checking airfares for the end of May, trying to incorporate the Memorial Day holiday into the mix. Not much luck, prices were around $1800...Yikes! Then I started to work back through April, being mindful that I really didn't want to travel during the Easter holiday. When I got to the last week of March I hit it big...round trip, including taxes was just under $850! I thought I was dreaming, but I made my fingers fly across the keyboard to hit the purchase button. Base fare on the tickets were around $725, I haven't seen prices like that in ages.
Now I can happily say mom and I are returning to Rome for a week at the end of March 2012! I can't wait to use some of my newly acquired Italian speaking skills!
Stay tuned for the hunt to find Roman accommodations...apartment or hotel? That is the question now!
