What to do in Seattle?

Until about 2 weeks ago, I had nothing planned for my upcoming trip to Seattle.  Yes, I had purchased plane tickets and yes, I had a hotel booked (via Twitter, gotta love social media!).  I even made a couple dinner reservations, but as far as activities to do while there for 4 days, I had...zip...nada...nothing.

Enter...groupon and Twitter (again).  One day I came across a tweet from @SeattleMaven, the "Twitter-mistress" of the Seattle Convention & Visitor's Bureau.  The tweet mentioned a gourmet walking tour at Savor Seattle Tours.  Mom and I had taken the Pike Place Market Tour with Savor Seattle a couple years ago and really enjoyed it, so I checked out their website to see what this Gourmet Tour was all about and, you guessed it, I liked what I saw.  The Savor Seattle website calls this tour a progressive dinner at Seattle’s best restaurants and hot spots! From appetizer to dessert, we will eat your way through Belltown, downtown Seattle, and Pike Place Market.  It didnt' take long for my fingers to fly across my computer keyboard to book this tour.

A day or so after booking the Savor Seattle Gourmet Tour I received a Groupon email about a "green" walking tour in Seattle.  The Groupon deal was pay $15 for a $30 tour with Immersus.  Before buying the Groupon I checked out the Immersus Tour company website and, like with Savor Seattle, I really liked what I saw.  A four hour walking tour using public transportation and traversing more off the beaten "tourist path" neighborhoods of Seattle sounding just like our kind of adventure.  While reading the tour company website I noticed this tour covers four miles.  Keeping mom in mind, I emailed the tour company asking more specifics about the "hilly-ness" of the area covered during the tour.  I was impressed that I received a reply back within hours and it was a thumbs-up for us.  I moved on the Groupon deal, and booked this four hour walking tour for one of the mornings during our trip.  Not only am I excited about exploring a new corner of Seattle, I'm excited to use their bus system!

So, with 2 tours booked, a couple dinner reservations made and plans for "retail therapy" at Pike Place Market, and Nordstroms Rack downtown, the Seattle trip has fallen into place!  Looking forward to seeing the "Emerald City" again!
